Charles Joseph Thompson IV, of Middletown, NY, a corrections officer for the O.C. Sheriff’s Dept., Goshen, NY, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. The son of Charles and Rosanne Smith Thompson, he was born on August 20, 1983 in Goshen, NY. He was an Army combat veteran of Iraq. He loved his niece, the outdoors, singing and playing pool. He had a creative gift and loved his family.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his wife, Cheryl Pierce Thompson at home and her children, Michael Bennett and his family of Gouverneur, NY and Meagan Carson of Middletown; his sister, Rachel Thompson and her partner, Ricky Baez of Walden; niece, Camila Baez of Walden; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Charles J. and Letitia Thompson and his maternal grandparents, Donald and Gloria Smith.

A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday, June 25th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, June 26th at Holy Name of Mary Church, Montgomery, NY. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Montgomery, NY.
