I just found out about this when I tried to look up my old friend CJ. We met online playing video games in 2015 and he was a great friend in time of need for me. We stayed up many nights drinking and sharing laughs and stories. Cj was like an older brother and mentor to me and I know he touched many people with his genuine soul and kindness. His soul is in my prayers as well as his family. Fly high in Valhalla brother

CJ,
You will be missed so much . The love you had for my best friend Cheryl, will never be forgotten or go unnoticed. You had a special bond that no one could break. I was fortunate to be able to be a part of your wedding party, and loved playing my violin for you “can’t help falling in love with you”. When you came into the room , you lit it up and you had a twinkle in your eye when you looked at Cheryl. May God comfort all of your family and friends as we say goodbye to you. I heard this poem read at a family members eulogy and I find it fitting for you CJ.
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on the tombstone
From the beginning...to the end
He noted that first came the date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years
For that dash represents all the time
That they spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved them
Know what that little line is worth
For it matters not, how much we own,
The cars...the house...the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So, think about this long and hard.
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering this special dash
Might only last a little while
So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life's actions to rehash...

How can any words express the loss we feel of losing our beloved son, C.J. They say that mothers forget the pain of childbirth, that part is true...but I remember the second you were born -- your first cry and being placed into my arms. We remember all the good times we shared with you growing up, your smile and how you made us laugh...how proud and blessed we were for having a son like you. You have touched the lives of so many people C.J. -- as people have reached out to us locally and from across the miles to express their condolences and share with Dad and I their memories of time spent with you in their lives. We'll try our best, son, to be strong for one another -- with Cheryl, Rachel, Camila and Ricky -- but we know that our lives are forever changed because without you with us there's a large hole in our hearts that no one else can fill. Dad and I love you so much C.J. and we know how much you loved us. This much we do know -- that you are a part of God's light and are in God's loving hands. Until we meet again in Heaven, love Mom &Dad

CJ, You will be greatly missed. May you Rest In Peace. We will all miss you terribly. CJ, you have been not only an excellent loving, caring, understanding, supportive friend to us all but also your wife Cheryl. You have supported Cheryl each and every day.
