Joan M. Gaffney of Middletown, NY passed away at Garnet Health Center, Wallkill, NY on Thursday, December 1, 2022. The daughter of George and Constanca Battaglia Johnson, she was born on February 10, 1937 in Queens, NY. She was 85 years old. She was a member of Holy Name of Mary Church, Montgomery, NY.

Joan is survived by her son, James McErlean of NJ; daughter, Eileen McErlean of Bullville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and significant other, Matthew Rechtorovic of Montgomery. She was predeceased by her son, Michael McErlean and numerous brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held from 1-3 PM on Sunday, December 11th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will begin at 3pm at the funeral home following the visitation. Cremation was in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.
