Obituary of Muriel A. Wheat

Muriel A Wheat of Walden, NY passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York City, NY. The daughter of the late Charles H. and Marjorie Crawford Clark, she was born on March 4, 1937 in Bangor, Maine. She was 84 years old. Muriel was a bookkeeper for the Walden Savings Bank. Muriel was a Mentor to many at the bank. Her loyalty and dedication was in a class by itself. She was known as "Eagle Eye" for her keen sense of being able to spot a mistake at first glance. For 30 plus years she was the official photographer for any event, celebration or party. She loved bingo and the NYS Lottery. She also enjoyed camping in the RV for over 25 years. Muriel is survived by her husband, Earl B. Wheat, Jr. at home; Leonard C. Wheat of Walden; grandchildren: Len David Wheat and his wife, Lindsay of Monticello and Katelen Wheat of Pennsylvania; great grandchildren: Tyler, Kyle, Brandon, Aubrey and Carson; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, David. A visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Thursday, Sept. 9th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, Sept 10th at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden.
