Diane Lee Schufa of Montgomery, NY passed away on Tuesday,
April 18, 2017 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. The daughter of the late John C. and Helen Koenig Corkedale, she was born of February 21, 1952 in Newburgh, NY. She was 65 years old. Diane was a dedicated preschool teacher for many years at the Valley Nursery School in Walden. Her love for her family and children was always evident.
Diane is survived by her husband, Rodrick F. Schufa at home; daughters: Holly Vaillancourt and her husband, Jonathan of N. Oxford, MA; Kellie Gayton and her husband, Jack of Montgomery, and Caralee Schufa of Downingtown, PA; brother, John Corkedale and his wife, Patricia of New Windsor; sisters: Linda Barnett and her husband, Bill of Newburgh and Patricia LaGrotteria and her husband, Peter of Mocksville, NC; grandchildren: Colin and Lillian Vaillancourt, Taylor, Lindsey, and Cameron Gayton and Kaiden Hill; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews.
A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, April 21st at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, April 22nd at the Church of the Most Precious Blood, Walden, NY. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh, NY.
