Obituary of Efrain Rojas

Efrain Rojas, age 75 of Las Vegas, NV passed away on July 6, 2019 at Horizon Specialty Center in Las Vegas. The son of the late Ralph Astolfo and Augustina Castro Rojas, he was born on December 26, 1943 in the Bronx, NY.

Efrain was a graduate of Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, IL. He led a career as a teacher of primary grades through high school. Efrain was a principal of three different Lutheran schools and most recently worked as a substitute teacher. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his son, David Rojas and his wife, Veronica, of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Dawn Osterdahl and her husband, Robert, of Otisville, NY; brothers, Ralph Rojas and Bill Rojas; sister, Gloria Rojas; grandchildren, Tyler Gibbs, Christopher, Matthew, Everett and Laicey Rojas; nieces and nephews. Efrain was predeceased by his wife, Rosaline Rojas and sisters, Isabel and Doris.

A visitation will be held from 10am-12pm on Monday, July 15^th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. Services will begin at 12pm following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Efrain’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
