Obituary of Julia Marie Sweed

Julia "Judy" Marie Sweed of Walden, NY passed away on October 25, 2024 at Kaplan Family Hospice Center. She was 81. She was born on November 6, 1942 in Newburgh, NY to the late Peter Troncillito and Filomenia Amorosi. Judy was married to Walter P. Sweed. She was an Administrator for Chase Bank in Middletown, NY for many years. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Judy was celebrated for her warm smile, engaging laugh, and deeply caring personality. She was the life of any gathering, reveling in celebrations with her family, wine tasting, or traveling to football games. Her dedication to her friends and family was the cornerstone of her life, making every moment with them a cherished memory. She is survived by her husband Walter at home; son, Sam Mandia of Marlboro; daughters, Deborah Spieler (Marc) of Katonah, NY, Nancy Mandia (Billy Robbins) of Greenwich, CT, Michele Topa of New Milford, CT; step-sons, Rusty Sweed (Debra) of Poughkeepsie, Bryon Berger of Florida, Charles "Chuck" Sweed (Dawn) of Wallkill, William "Billy" Sweed (Amy) of Walden, Robert Sweed of Walden; brother, Robert Troncillito (Alice) of Milton; sister in laws, Anna Jennings of Walden, Ruth Berger of Town of Crawford; her beloved grandchildren, Anthony, Mackenzie, Samantha, Luke, Kendall, Kyler, and Alexa; nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan 800 Stony Brook Court Newburgh, NY or St. Jude's Research Hospital. Visitation will be held on Thursday October 31, 2024 from 6-8 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. Services will be held on Friday November 1, 2024 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Rte 52 Walden, NY.
