Obituary of Kelly Marie Napoleon

Please share a memory of Kelly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
November 3, 1978 – February 26, 2024 Kelly Marie Napoleon passed away February 26, 2024, in the loving embrace of her family at Garnett Medical Center. She was 45 years old. Kelly was born in Newburgh, NY on November 3, 1978 to Edward and Catherine Pimm. She grew up in the Town of Montgomery with her sister Julie before settling there to raise her own family. A Valley Central Viking through and through, she attended Valley Central schools as a student (Class of 1996) whose loves were mathematics, foreign language, playing in the school band and leading the color guard. The call to teach would bring her back to the VC family, and after getting her education degree from Mount Saint Mary College, she returned to become a beloved Spanish teacher at the Middle School, an active member of the district Equity Committee and Ed Council, and an advisor for the NJHS. Full of effervescent energy and merry wit, Kelly was always the epitome of style and grace as she floated through the halls providing many students with a kind ear, a warm laugh and a shoulder to lean on. A dedicated colleague and Chairperson of the Foreign Language Department at the Middle School, Kelly’s nurturing has been in constant supply for the students and the adults of VCMS for the past 24 years. When not in a classroom, Kelly was a Renaissance woman. An avid gourmet cook, she enjoyed creating scrumptious meals with her daughter Jenna at home or even while camping with her family in the Adirondacks. Kelly’s love of travel took her on trips around North America by plane or cruise ship. Her love of music and art brought her to many Broadway plays, while her zest for activity found her loving time at the gym and dancing her heart out at Zumba class. She taught CCD at Most Precious Blood, bringing her faith and her teaching expertise together to inspire many children. Kelly’s love and devotion to her students was only surpassed by her boundless love for her husband Brent and her two children, Jenna and Anthony. She is survived by her parents, Edward and Catherine Pimm, her sister Julie (Jason) Cavanaugh, her nieces, Maggie Velaszquez, and Bridget Cavenaugh, and her nephew Daniel Cavanaugh. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The V Foundation for Cancer Research.
