Mrs. Napoleon was a joy to be around both inside the classroom and out. She made learning Spanish my favorite class in 8th grade. She quickly became one of my favorite teachers. After college, I would occasionally see her at my job. Each time, she was a ray of sunshine and just an overall wonderful person. I am very fortunate to have had her in my life and I know others feel the same. May she rest in peace and may her family feel the love from all of us.

When Kelly entered my classroom as a student teacher, little did we know we already had a very long, shared history! He Father, Ed , summered At a campsite called Moffitt’s beach on Sacandaga Lake in the Adirondacks, a place I now call home. Ed knew the people as a young man, that became a part of my sister’s family when she married. Making the connection with Kelly , brought her dad and his family back to Sacandaga. We had many a summer dining at the Oxbow, at the campsite and at Melody Lodge as well as visits to my forever home! I cherish the memories. Our last memory was at King of The Frosties. Jenna came to Speculator to take her drivers test! Oddly. I recalled all this on Sunday evening this past week, only to discover on Tuesday morning, an obituary that left me gob smacked! The lake rises because of my tears! Love you Pimms!

Kelly, from that day of my 16th birthday when you "threw" me across the band room so I wouldn't ruin the surprise Rice Krispy treats you had made from me. I remember the young girl who loved to be in the Marching Band with Mr. Maraday. Especially on the trips to the city to participate in the Columbus Day Parade and the Saint Patrick's Day Parade. I wish I had pictures of you from that time in those very old uniforms so that I could share them here but the memory is still quiet vivid in my mind. I also remember you as the soprano who sang with me in the choir and who encouraged her own daughter to sing with me too. I am so grateful to have had the chance to know you and to have worked with Jenna and now Tony. You raised them to be confident and to have a heart that is genuine and caring just like your own.

In recognition of the warm-hearted spirit of Kelly, who was endearing to everyone around her. Her selfless affection and thoughtfulness never went unnoticed and the generosity she demonstrated was beyond comparison. Kelly you were a remarkable young woman, and a great mom and a wonderful mentor to many children that passed through school with you. I am so glad to say I loved to get to know you over the years that you and your family became part of ours. You had a beautiful glow and style about you that shined as big as your smile.
