Nancy J. Schofield of Wallkill, NY. passed away on September 8, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. She was 70 years old. She was born in Walden, NY on February 24, 1953 to the late Leroy and Ruth Dunn Merring. Nancy was a courier for the Valley View Nursing Home. She was married to Gary Schofield for many years. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Gary at home; son, Jason Schofield of Wallkill; daughter Dawn Wright (Joseph) of Ellenville, NY; step-children, Laura Schofield of GA and Cori Beauchamp of MD; sisters, Donna Coulter of Coldenham and Irene Rearick of Pine Bush; granddaughter, Megan Wright; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Louise Davis, Donald Merring, Cliff Jones, Virginia Steinhilber.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday September 15, 2023 from 5-7 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586.
Cremation was held privately at Cedar Hill Crematory.
