William Christiano of Montgomery, NY passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017. The son of the late Nicholas and Virginia Suo Christiano, he was born on January 25, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY. He was 82 years old. William was a US Army Veteran, a retired mail carrier for the Newburgh Post Office and worked for Manheim Auto Auction. He was a charter member and past president of the Kiwanis of Montgomery; past member of the Town of Montgomery Republican Club and committeeman for the Orange County Republican Committee. Survivors are his wife, Joan Cataldo Christiano at home; sons: William J. Christiano and his wife, Renee of Montgomery, and Robert F. Christiano and his wife, Kimberly of Gardiner; daughter, Joan Mahood and her husband, Michael of Wallkill; grandchildren: Ashley, Amanda, Victoria and Matthew; brother, Nicholas Christiano and his wife, Frances of Newburgh, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Alexander and sister, Lucille Manzione. A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday, February 8th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, February 9th at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Newburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
