Anita “Nita” Pettine Wynkoop was born in Walden, New York on October 15, 1942 to Anthony Pettine and Dorothy Wager Pettine. Surrounded by love she was reunited with her soulmate Roy on May 23, 2023. Nita attended Walden Elementary School and Walden High School. She married the love of her life-Roy on October 4, 1959. They were married for 55 wonderful years. Nita was a Cub Scout leader, a Brownie Leader, and a member of the Town of Montgomery Lions Club. She was one of the founding members of the Walden Community Council. Together she and Roy were the owners of Flowers by Anita in her beloved Village of Walden for over 30 years. Within the walls of the shop, she made many life-long friends. When you became her friend, you became part of her family. Anita was predeceased by her husband Roy in 2014, as well as her parents, her brother Tony, his wife Lorraine, her niece and goddaughter, Tonia Pettine Sprance, her in-laws, Roy and Mae Wynkoop, brother-in-law, Walter Koonce and many beloved pets. She leaves behind their loving, and fiercely loved children. Their son, Todd Wynkoop, and his partner- Vivian Kim. His children Kathryn Grace and Jacob DeWitt. Her daughter Tracey Wynkoop Moran and her husband Mike. Their children, Michael Anthony, Adam John, Zachary Thomas and Victoria Nicole. Her great-grandson, Anthony Moran and his mother Jessica Heins Cardenas. In addition she leaves Joan Wynkoop Koonce, Dave and Chris Wynkoop, many beloved nieces and nephews, cherished friends and of course her adored grand pup Pax Nita will always be remembered as a kind, compassionate, forgiving and vivacious lady who never met a stranger. As she created her beautiful flower arrangements, she nurtured her many friendships. Those friendships meant everything to her and when she loved, it was with her whole being. She will be missed every second of every day forever. A celebration of her amazing life will take place in Walden at a later date.
