Joseph Cardero, of Walden, NY, passed away at home on Monday, May 8, 2023. The son of the late Jose and Virginia Jimenez Cardero, Sr., he was born on November 8, 1940 in Manhattan, NY. He was 82 years old. He was employed at a law enforcement officer at the DMV, Albany and Kingston, NY. He also worked for the Village of Maybrook PD, Town of Montgomery PD, and private investigations for welfare fraud for Orange County.
Joseph is survived by his son, Patrick Cardero of Modena; daughters: Anita Cardero of Wisconsin and Kathleen Goguen of Walden, grandchildren: Rebecca Pilluis and Jessica Dunn. He was predeceased by his sisters: Mariana Eggers, Maria Luisa Quinones and Gloria Santiago and grandson, Kal-El Joseph Cardaro.
Crematon was in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY. A visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Friday, May 26th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A funeral service will follow at 6 pm at the funeral home. Burial of his cremains will be in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Walden Humane Society, 3489 Albany Post Road, Walden, NY. 12586.
