Anita M. Zapata of Walden, NY passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Vassar Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. The daughter of the late George and Lillian Muscat Curcurato, she was born on May 9, 1943 in New York City, NY. She was 73 years old. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Enterprise Steamer Co. of the Walden Fire Dept. and a cashier at the Thruway Market, Walden.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Norma Zapata of Montgomery; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, James Curcurato.
Cremation was in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY. Burial of her cremains will be held in the spring in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.
