Alfred Vincent Eady of Newburgh, NY passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 24, 2018. He was 93. The son of the late Walter and Gertrude Mathonic Eady, he was born May 10, 1925 in Summerville, SC. Alfred was married to the late June Howard Eady. They married in 1952. Alfred proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII and the Merchant Marines. He worked as a Brick Mason Foreman in West Point, NY. Alfred was a member of the Newburgh VFW and the Middlehope Fire Dept. Survivors include his children whom he raised himself after the passing of his loving wife; son, Alfred V. Eady, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Endicott, NY; daughters, Renee T. Avon and her husband, Louis, of Newburgh, NY, Michele Grove of Virginia, Lori Melle of Virginia; grandchildren, Lisa, Mark, Theresa, Gregg, Shawn, Ryan, Dylan and Joelle; great grandchildren, Ethan & Christiaan, Rory, Rikard and great grand-daughter on the way Cameron Renee; and his beloved dog Duke. Along with his wife, Alfred was predeceased by his grandson, Timothy and his three brothers and six sisters. Services will be held privately at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of Sapphire Nursing Home at Meadow Hill for their respect and care for Alfred. Al’s favorite quote was, “The young get old and the old get cold, Phew! Time marches on” Memorial contributions may be made in Alfred’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project
