Obituary of Josephine V. Fracalossi

Josephine V. "Josie" Fracalossi of Walden, NY passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. The daughter of Daniel T. and Mary Eccher Sandri, she was born on February 25, 1929 in Vigo di Ton Trento, Italy. She was 93 years old. She was the widow of the late Remo Fracalossi. Josephine was a young widow. She had many jobs supporting her five children after her husband's passing. She ultimately went back to school, studied accounting, and became a bookkeeper for Polak's Frutal Works in Middletown, NY. Her true love was raising her children and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a communicant of Church of the Most Precious Blood, Walden, and a member of the Coldenham Garden Club, and Walden Senior Citizens Her father died at an early age, she was raised by her stepfather, Albino Seia. Survivors are her sons: Daniel Fracalossi of Peru, NY, Michael Fracalossi of Walden, and Joseph Fracalossi and his wife, Terri Campbell of Wallkill, NY; daughters: Sandra Young and her husband, Richard of Latham and Anna Fracalossi and her husband, Robert Romanowski of Cape Coral, FL, and grandchildren: Elisabeth, Kalyn, Erin, Eli and Wyatt; and great grandchildren, Emma, Sophia, and Cameron, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Sandri and sister, Loretta Vernooy. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 10th from 4-7 pm at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 11th at the Church of the Most Precious Blood, Walden, NY. Burial of ashes will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Montgomery, NY.
