Obituary of Cora P. Hanlon

Cora P. Hanlon of Newburgh, NY passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. The daughter of Brie and Ruth Baehm Huddleston, she was born on February 2, 1939 in Montgomery, NY. She was 83 years old. She was a bookkeeper for Rider, Weiner and Loeb, New Windsor, NY. She was the widow of Raymond Hanlon and Donald Maraday. Cora was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, Montgomery, NY Cora is survived by her sons: Tom Scarzfava and his fiancé JoAnn of Newburgh, and Larry Scarzfava and his wife, Linda of Slate Hill; daughter, Toni Taverna and her husband, Dominic of Revere, MA; and other stepchildren; brother, William Huddleston and his wife, JoAnn of Montgomery; sisters: Mary Christine Harrison and her husband, Joe of Montgomery and Kathleen Thorpe and her husband, John of NC; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Martha Young and Joan Beaty. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 25th from 2-5 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on May 26th at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, Montgomery. Burial will be in the Brick Church Cemetery, Montgomery, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the America Cancer Society.
