Eileen Menendez of Walden, NY, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. The daughter of Fred and Gladys Howard Mehl, she was born on March 26, 1937 in Cornwall, NY. She was 84 years old. Eileen was a nurse’s aide at St. Luke’s Hospital and helped on the Menendez farm. She was the widow of the late Edward “Eddie” Menendez.
Eileen is survived by her daughter, Melissa Menendez of Walden; sister-in-law, Carol Menendez; nieces and nephews: Leon Mehl, Jr., Arnold Mehl (Eva), Carol Mehl-Duke (Dennis), Claire Dubnick (Steve), Ed Menendez (Kathy) ,Michael Menendez (JoAnne), Dan Menendez (Susan), Steve Menendez (Helen), Matt Menendez (Rebecca); great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, George and Leon Mehl. Eileen also leaves behild her cats, Tigger and Pee Wee.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, January 19th at Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden, NY. Burial will follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to be used at their discretion.
