My mom was the most dedicated of mothers. She was very kind to everyone. She was a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother to many. My mom always opened her home and kitchen to anyone family or not. All the kids in the neighborhood congregated at my mom's house. We used to walk to maybrook almost every day when I was a kid. My mom and grandmother never liked sitting home too long. We would swim in the local creek and fish. She always found something for us to do. Her van was always filled with kids. Back in 2015, she was at Columbia Hospital in NYC, very sick with MCL lymphoma. I said "mom what was your dream as a child?" She said without hesitation, I always wanted to get married and have a bunch of kids around me to keep me happy. Well, I can say my mom lived her dream. There were many kids around her. She adopted many as her grandkids and raised many from infant on. My mom never said no to anything. She loved her reese cups and coke. She would give you her last dollar or a bed in her home. My mom loved to ride around and just look at the changes in the area. It didn't take much to make my mom happy. Everyone visiting her was enough to complete her day. I will miss her greatly. My mom was from a different time, but always adapted to everyone she met. No one has ever sad a bad word about her. How could you? No one is perfect, but my mom came pretty close. Through all her chemo and needle pokes she always smiled. I hope she now has peace in her life. Because she deserves it. I cannot imagine caring for as many kids and people that my mom took care of. She was a very special woman. I love you mom with all my heart. I will miss you terribly. I will keep living with all the memories and phrases you always had. That is what you would want for me and everyone who knew you.
