Robert P. Hickey, Sr. of Gardiner, NY passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. The son of Francis and Doris Becklund Hickey, he was born on July 22, 1942 in Worcester, Mass. He was 79 years old. He was employed by Big V Supermarket, Montgomery, NY. Robert was the widower of Joyce M. Hickey.
Robert is survived by his sons: Robert Hickey, Jr. ( Kelly) , Sean Hickey (Theresa); daughters: Laurie Morse and Jeannine LoCicero (John); brother, Francis Hickey; sisters: Sandra Cook, Sheila Raymond, Cheryl Jalbert and Patricia Kneeland; grandchildren: Collin, Courtney, Dillon, Ashley, Erin, Jonathan, Alexis, John, Jr., Christopher, Justin and Sarah; Great granddaughter, Sophia nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Kevin and his sister, Sharon McManus.
A visitation will be held from 10- 12 pm on Saturday, December 18th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12 noon on Saturday, December 18th at the funeral home. Cremation was in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the American Cancer Society.
