Barbara J. Alexander of Montgomery, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Riverview Nursing Home, Haverstraw, NY. The daughter of the late Decatur and Olamae Roebuck Penney, she was born on January 17, 1948 in Walden, NY. She was 69 years old. A former employee of the Thruway Market. Barbara was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fearless Hook & Ladder Co. and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Walden VFW.
Survivors are her husband, Jay Alexander at home; son, Jay Alexander, Jr. of Montgomery; brothers: David, Kenneth, George, Gilbert and Decatur; sisters: Georgianna, Deborah, Karen, Marion, Jeannette and Elaine; grandchildren: Jay and Dennis; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Fern and brothers, Marvin, Stanley, Robert and Dennis.
A visitation will be from 10-11 AM on Wednesday, March 15th at the Walden Baptist Church, Bank Street, Walden. Memorial services will be held at 11 am following the visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Walden VFW, 4-8 Oak Street, Walden, NY 12586.
