Mercedes Morales of Walden, NY passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Garnet Medical Center, Town of Wallkill, NY. The daughter of Antonio and Euleria Resto Morales, she was born on April 25, 1937 in Trutillo Alto, Puerto Rico. She was 84 years old. She was a escort/translator for the Visiting Nurse Service, New York City, NY.
Mercedes is survived by her husband, Confesor Rodriguez at home; daughters: Marisol Duran and her husband, Raymond of Walden and Maribel Martinez Boneta of Maybrook; step daughters: Rebecca Coviello and her husband, Charlie of New Jersey and Bonddy Rodriguez of Florida; brother, Valentine Morales of Puerto Rico; grandchildren: Luis Melendez, Leonardo Duran, Aiden Duran, and Antonio Boneta; 2 great grandchildren nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, September 12th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 13th at the Church of the Most Precious Blood, Walnut St. Walden, NY. Cremation will be in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.
