Peter H. Sweeney of Walden, NY passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice, Newburgh, NY. The son of the late Richard and Elizabeth Adams Sweeney, he was born on May 31, 1951 in New York City, NY. He was 70 years old. He was married to Mary Ellen Kaczegowicz Sweeney. He was a former salesman for PHS Sales, Oxford, CT. Peter is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Sweeney at home; son, Alex Sweeney and his fiancé, Sara of Fairfield, CT; daughters: Faith Loeser and husband, Nicholas of Montgomery and Michelle Hopkins and her husband, Philip of Walden; grandchildren, Julia, Nathan, Theo, and Travis: brother-in-law, David Kaczegowicz of Easton, CT and cousin, Mary Sue Sweeney-Price of PA. A visitation will be held on Monday, August 23rd at The Table, 73 Clinton Street, Montgomery, NY from 4 – 7 PM. Graveside service and burial of ashes will be held at 12 noon on Monday, August 30th at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Fairfield, CT. Cremation was in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA.
