Mary Isabel Marchant of Middletown, NY passed away on April 10, 2017 at Elant at Goshen. The daughter of the late James Collins and Martha Batten Williams Purinton, she was born on May 7, 1922 in Topsham, Maine. She was 94 years old. She was the widow to the late Elias Gibson Marchant. Mary was an Assistant Manager for Sullivans in Middletown for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies. Nature and gardening were her passion. She loved her animals and her family. She will be dearly missed.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Jaime Suzanne Hayden of Town of Crawford, Dawn Maria Brown of Town of Crawford; grandchildren, Christopher Jason Brown, Alison Marie Brown, Elise Margerite Hayden; great grandchildren, Jonah Hayden-Ferdman, Maxim Hayden-Ferdman, Vanessa Marie Brown, Louis Salvatore Mari; nephew Mark Prescott and niece Sally Selvaggi
She was predeceased by her sister, Mrs. Alberta Prescott.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday April 22, 2017 from 3-5 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Walden, NY. Services will be held at 5 PM at the funeral home following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mary may be made to the Animal Shelter of one’s choice.
