Carol E. Deignan, 80, of Walden passed away peacefully at Wingate at Beacon on January 8, 2018 after battling a disease known a PSP for several years. The daughter of Ernest and Florence Roller, Carol was born on April 14, 1937 in Teaneck, NJ. Carol was active in the community when she lived in Walden. She had many friends and was a member of the Walden Baptist Church and the Walden Senior Citizens until her illness. She gave a valiant fight and will be missed.
Carol is survived by two sons: Brian Bailey and his wife, Karen of Pine Bush and Marc Bailey and his wife, Lisa of Mahopac, and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 11 AM – 1 PM on Friday, January 12th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM at the funeral home following the visitation. Burial will follow at Modena Rural Cemetery, Modena, NY.
Carol loved animals especially cats. Memorial contributions may be made to the Walden Humane Society, 2489 Albany Post Road, Walden, NY 12586.
