LeRoy “Roy” Hoornbeck, age 97 of Walden, NY passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on April 22, 2021. The son of the late LeRoy and Iona Baird Hornbeck, he was born on November 18, 1923 in New Haven, CT. Roy was married to the late Helen Stuart Reid Hoornbeck.
Roy worked as a Recreational Director for IBM in East Fishkill, NY. He was a lifelong member of the Lake Osiris Country Club. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his sons, Chris (Kelli) of Canandaigua, NY, LeRoy “Rick” (Gail) of Santa Cruz, CA, John (Suzy) of Harrisburg, NC, Dennis Dahms (Sharon) of Cedar Falls, IA; daughters, Kate Hoornbeck-Northup (Jack) of Walden, NY, Ann Hoornbeck of Walden, NY, Helen Herbert (John) of Walden, NY; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6-8PM on Monday, April 26th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. Due to ongoing health and occupancy restrictions, facemasks are required and a wait-time may apply to enter the funeral home. Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made in Roy’s memory to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. 800 Stony Brook Ct, Newburgh, NY 12550.
