Alfred Ernest “Al” Kay, age 84 of Cold Spring, NY, passed away on March 19, 2021, at Sky View Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Croton-on-Hudson, NY. The son of the late Alfred E. and Rita M. Hassett Kay, he was born on June 17, 1936, in Bridgeport, CT.
In his early years, Al was a comic in the Catskills, mainly at Grossinger’s. Later, he worked as a machinist for Hudson Wire in Ossining, NY. He was also a former member of the Peekskill Moose Lodge. Al loved to hunt, fish, and play cards, and he was an avid fan of both the Buffalo Bills and the New England Patriots. Above all, he was very family oriented and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ida B. Kay, at home; daughters, Adrianne Sanchez and her husband, Mark, of Maybrook, NY, and Alexandra Kay of Cold Spring, NY; grandchildren, Heather, Mark Jr., Kylie, and Finn; and great-granddaughter, Maeve.
Services and cremation will be held privately.
