Joan S. Pohlman, age 88 of Rhinebeck, NY and formerly of Montgomery, NY passed away on January 19, 2021 at the Baptist Home at Brookmeade, Rhinebeck, NY. The daughter of the late Walter and Selma Christensen Schlotzhauer, she was born on September 17, 1932 in Springfield, MA. Joan was married to the late Rev. Stewart F. Pohlman.
Joan worked as a school teacher for the Beverly Public Schools in Beverly, MA. She was a member and retired Christian Counselor for Goodwill Church in Montgomery, NY. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey Pohlman and his wife, Joanne of Dallas, TX, Keith Pohlman of Cincinnati, OH; daughter, Gayle DiNicola and her husband, Paul of Rotterdam, NY; brother, John Schlotzhauer of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Rebekah, Anna, Cheryl, David and Brian; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Claire, Andrew John “AJ”, Coe, Dia, Luke, Claire, Ellie, Miles, Daniel and Michael; nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her brother, Robert Schlotzhauer.
Private burial took place in Goodwill Cemetery, Montgomery, NY.
