Raymond E. Parris, Jr. of Washingtonville, NY passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY. The son of the late Raymond E. and Jayne Schwartz Parris, Sr., he was born on November 30, 1949 in Goshen, NY. He was 67 years old. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Viet Nam Era.
Raymond has been a longtime member of the Woodbury Field & Stream, Monroe Chester Sportsman’s Club, and the Garden State Black Powder Assoc. He was a racing enthusiast, especially enjoying the stock car races at OCFS. Special thanks to Dr. Zick of the Goshen VA for years of great care and also his nurses at Westchester Medical Center Trauma Unit.
Survivors are his sister, Jayne P. Muir of Cornwall and Robert Muir of Walden; nephew, Michael J. Muir and his wife, Telica of Medina, OH; great nephew, Travis, Muir; aunt, Mildred Ingrassia of Middletown, and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, May 19th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 11 Am on Saturday, May 20th at the funeral Home.. Burial will be in the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
He was an animal lover, so please donate to the humane society of one’s choice.
