Wilma Ann Charles of Gardiner, NY passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Vassar Bros. Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. The daughter of the late William and Ethel Steinhilber Palmer, she was born on June 22, 1941 in Walden, NY. She was 76 years old. She was the widow of the late Everett H. Charles, Jr.
Wilma is survived by her companion, Jack South of Gardiner; sons: Everett H. Charles III of Plattekill and Michael Charles of Gardiner; daughters: Ethel Williams (Craig) of Shohola, PA, Stacie Jackson and companion, Pete Vasquez of Montgomery; Tina Rodschat (Erik) of Marlboro; Lucinda Richburg (James) of Walden and Charlotte Lloyd (Shawn) of Gardiner; sisters: Darlene Palmer of Walden and Marlene Palmer of New York; brother, William Palmer of PA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, Ronald and Theron Charles.
A visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, January 15th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 16th at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
