James Michael Geoghegan, 84, a retired security manager at IBM passed away at home on June 22, 2017. The son of the late Thomas and Marie Lingel Geoghegan, he was born on July 20, 1932 in Bronx, NY. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Muriel A. Hannafin, on May 13, 1956 at Mt. Carmel Church, Astoria, NY. They shared 54 years of marriage. She predeceased him on May 15, 2010. He is survived by his children, Susan Kupperblatt and her husband, Kevin of Marlboro, NY; Paul Geoghegan and his wife, Sandy of Asheville, NC; Timothy Geoghegan and his wife, Jane Galland of Brooklyn, NY; James Geoghegan and his companion, Sue Fuentes of Bloomingburg, NY. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Corinne Geoghegan and son-in-law, Glen Garrison; brother, Robert and his wife, Elizabeth; sisters: Rita Geoghegan, Geri Lucido; Mary Smith and Peggy Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great greats. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Muriel, son, Michael, daughter, Diane M. Garrison, brother, Thomas and sister Patricia. Pop- we are heart broken, but we know you are finally at peace and with Mom. We love you and we will miss you forever. Per his wishes, there will be no services or visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
