Obituary of Anthony Riina

Anthony Riina, age 94 of Walden, NY passed away at home on March 18, 2020. The son of the late Frank and Adelina Romagnollo Riina, he was born on December 31, 1925 in New York City. Anthony was the loving husband of the late Ruth Flynn Riina. Anthony owned and operated Poppy’s Place Barber Shop in Wallkill, NY. He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed going to OTB. He will be dearly missed. Survivors include his daughter, Kathleen Martin of Walden, NY; grandchildren, John Martin and his wife, Michele, of Lockport, NY, David Martin and his wife, Brenda, of Hazlet, NJ, Dawn Elio and her husband, Andrew, of Carmel, NY; great-grandchildren, Christian, Nicholas and Dylan. In addition to his parents and wife, Anthony was predeceased by his daughter, Carolyn Fitzgerald and his sister-in-law, Margaret Blythe. A visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, March 22nd at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. Funeral services and burial will be private.
