He was my 6th grade teacher at Union Grove School, many decades ago. Always liked him, as a teacher and as a person. Great respect for this good man.

My condolences to Mort's family. I am unable to convey my expression of sympahy in person today (10/30/19) nor tomorrow (10/31/19) because I am in Kansas City visiting my son and his family. I am a retired teacher from the Newburgh Enlarged City School District and got to know Mort well at local running events over the years. Even though I am ten years younger than Mort, I was never able to cross the finish line ahead of him. He was an amazing runner! In recent years, I enjoyed seeing Mort on a daily basis at Gold's Gym in Newburgh. My deepest sympathy to Mort's entire family during these painful difficult days.

I fondly remember when Tony and I were in NY and Uncle Mort took us on a tour of the Hudson Valley and West Point. Such a kind and thoughtful man!
