Obituary of Valentine L. Tyler Jr.

Valentine L. “Dewey” Tyler Jr., age 76 of Campbell Hall, NY passed away on September 5, 2019 at Orange Regional Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. The son of the late Valentine E. and Esther Hannaburgh Tyler Sr., he was born on February 20, 1943 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Valentine worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years and served his country in the National Guard. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Linda M. Tyler at home; sons, Gary Tyler and his wife, Suzanne, of Candor, NY, Dewey Tyler and his wife, Stacy, of Narrowsburg, NY; daughters, Yolanda Ferris and her husband, Larry Jr., of Rock Tavern, NY, Laura LaFolette and her husband, James, of Slate Hill, NY, Michelle DelMastro of Campbell Hall, NY; brother, Alray “Buster” Tyler of Hyde Park, NY; sisters, Lilian, Nancy, Sylvia and Linda; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Valentine was predeceased by his sisters, Corrine and Esther.

Services and cremation will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Valentine’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
