Obituary of Elvera A. Giglio

Elvera A. Giglio, age 96 of Walden, NY passed away peacefully on June 3, 2019 at home. The daughter of the late Peter and Josephine Cascarelli Micieli, she was born on June 11, 1922 in Maybrook, NY. Elvera was married to the late Frank A. Giglio. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Elvera worked as a seamstress for Calvert Coat Co. in Middletown, NY and the Brookmay Coat Factory in Maybrook, NY. She was a member of the Maybrook VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Maybrook Golden Links, Walden Senior Citizens Club and the Hamptonburgh Leisure Senior Citizens Club in Campbell Hall, NY. Elvera also enjoyed working as an election day worker for the primary and general elections in the area.

Survivors include her daughter, JoAnn Giglio; sister-in-law, Dolly Micieli; nephews, Joseph Giglio and Peter Micieli; nieces, Kathy Aguele and Lillian Reitz. In addition to her husband, Elvera was predeceased by her sister, Edith Micieli; brother, Victor Micieli; niece, Tina Micieli; nephews, Dan and George Curto.

Funeral services are private. Memorial contributions may be made in Elvera’s name to the Maybrook VFW, the Maybrook VFW Ladies Auxiliary, or the Walden Humane Society.
