Obituary of John Octavio Mendez Jr.

John Octavio Mendez Jr., age 68 of Walden, NY passed away on April 17, 2019 at Castle Point VA Hospital in Wappingers Falls, NY. The son of the late Juan O. and Ana Diaz Mendez Sr., he was born on October 17, 1950 in Manhattan, NY. John proudly served his country in the Army. He worked in sales for Lowe’s in Newburgh, NY. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Diane E. Mendez at home; son, Jason F. Mendez of Middletown, NY; daughters, Laura A. Mendez of Newburgh, NY, Michelle C. Mendez of Walden, NY; sisters, Lisa Mendez and Lori VenVenuto, both of Florida; numerous nieces & nephews.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10am-12pm on Friday, May 3^rd at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. Burial of ashes will immediately follow in the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Craigville Rd. Goshen, NY.
