Rev. Stewart F. Pohlman of Montgomery, NY passed away at the Baptist Home, Rhinebeck, NY on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. The son of the late Fred C. and Hilda Hausman Pohlman, he was born on December 5, 1929 in Amsterdam, NY. He was 87 years old. Pastor Pohlman was a retired minister of the Goodwill Presbyterian Church, Montgomery, NY. He proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War and a former member of the American Legion Post 521, Montgomery. Survivors are his wife, Joan Schlotzhauer Pohlman; sons: Jeffrey Pohlman and his wife, Joanne of Dallas, TX and Keith Pohlman of Cincinatti, OH; daughter, Gayle DiNicola and her husband, Paul of Hurley, NY; sister, Shirley VanDenburgh of Amsterdam, NY; grandchildren: Rebekah, Anna, Cheryl, David and Brian; great grandchildren: Nicole and Claire, Andrew John “AJ”, Luke and Claire, Eloise, Coe and Dia; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Gladys Fredericks and brother Harold Fredericks. A visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Friday, August 25th at the Goodwill Presbyterian Church, Rte. 208, Montgomery, NY. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 26th at the Church. Burial will be in the Goodwill Cemetery, Montgomery, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Goodwill Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Montgomery, NY.
