Obituary of Dee Ann Fassnacht

Please share a memory of Dee to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dee Ann Fassnacht passed away at home on January 9, 2019. She was born on November 10, 1947 in Middletown, NY. Married to Frank “Rusty” Fassnacht on August 27, 1967, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. When it came time to take over the family business (Colden Manor at Spruce Lodge in Coldenham, NY) with Rusty, she was the backbone of the family and family business. She put her heart and soul into her family and their business.

In taking over the responsibilities of the kitchen, cooking became her passion. She never stopped trying to learn more and improve upon what she created. She looked at every meal she prepared as if it was being prepared for her family and many customers became like members of her extended family. Her amazing strength, heart and soul are an inspiration to her children, grandchildren, extended family and those that became her family through the business.

She is survived by her husband, Rusty; daughters: Jaime Nicole Fassnacht, Cindy Lynn Sene and her husband, Papa Sene, and Tina Marie Fassnacht; her granddaughters, Bijou Aminata Sene and Piper Rose Kaylor, all of Montgomery, NY; her brothers, Richard Bogdanski and his wife, Debbie, Tim Bogdanski and his wife, Stacey, and sisters, Joanne Collins and Julie Williamson, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her brother, James Bogdanki, and her parents, Julian and Josephine Bogdanski.

Cremation was held at Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh, NY. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Holy Name of Mary Assumption Church, Union Street, Montgomery, NY on Wednesday, January 16th at 5:00 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dee’s name to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc. 800 Stony Brook Ct, Newburgh, NY 12550.
