Melvin Fredell of the Town of Newburgh, NY passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Elant At Fishkill. The son of the late Walter and Ruth Barley Fredell, he was born on September 17, 1928 in Irvington, NJ. He was 89 years old. Melvin was an Navy veteran. He was employed as a furniture salesman and repairman for Sloan Furniture, New Windsor, and for Weidy’s Furniture, Wappingers Falls, NY.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Lorraine Johnson Fredell of Newburgh; sons: Gary M. Fredell and his wife, Christine of Walden and David J. Fredell and his wife, Sue of Dingmans Ferry, PA; daughters: Sheree R. Lubitz and her husband, Bernie of Walden; Terri A. Lacey and her husband, Dennis of Modena; Patricia M. Lubits and her husband, Bob of Ringoes, NJ and Lori J. Fredell and her husband, Jeff of Jasper, AL; brother, Joseph Fredell; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Timothy Lubits and sister, Evelyn Woolheater.
Cremation and funeral services were private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
