Betty A. Lunt Kurtz of Montgomery, NY passed away on May 3, 2018 at home. The daughter of the late Lance and Anna Bunney Lunt, she was born on December 31, 1930 in Whitehall, NY. She was 87 years old. Betty retired as a Cook Manager for the Valley Central School District. Survivors include her five children, Linda Dolson (Ken) of Walden, NY, Helena Iacuniano (James) of Montgomery, NY, Thomas Carmody (Patricia) of Massachusetts, Rebecca Hill (Ed) of Lakeland, FL, James Carmody (Ruthann) of Copake, NY; five step-children, Deborah Foster of Olivebridge, NY, Gary Kurtz (Diane) of Newburgh, NY, Daniel Kurtz II (Debbie) of Highland, NY, Irene DiMarco (Antonio) of Newburgh, NY, Eugene Kurtz (Janice) of Ohio; many, many breakfast club grandchildren and great grandchildren!! Betty was predeceased by her loving husband, Daniel E. Kurtz, her brother Jack Lunt, sisters Lorraine Pulcastro and Margaret Kellner, and son-in-law, Steven Foster. A visitation will be held from 2-4PM on Sunday, May 6th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10AM on Monday, May 7th at Holy Name of Mary-Assumption Church, 89 Union St. Montgomery, NY 12549. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s name to Holy Name of Mary-Assumption Church or Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc., 800 Stony Brook Ct, Newburgh, NY 12550.
