Violette “MeMere” Muscat of Walden, NY passed away on Tuesday September 19, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Charlotte Ferry and George Levin, she was born on May 8, 1926 in Athis-Mons, France. Violette survived the Nazi invasion of France enduring many hardships. She came to America in 1948.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Muscat. Survivors are her daughter, Claudette Vogel; grandchildren: Jaron Yancewicz and Jolie Yancewicz and great grandchildren, Sophia, Jacob, Isabella, Brielle and Andrew.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, September 22nd at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Memorial services will begin at 8 PM at the funeral home following the visitation. Cremation was in the Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Walden Humane Society.
