Thomas F. Bauer of Bloomingburg, NY passed away on December 12, 2012 at the Valley View Nursing & Rehabilitation. He was 91. The son of Evelyn Capidieupo Bauer, he was born on July 13, 1921 in the Bronx, NY.
Music has been a part of his life for most of his years. His mother played the piano at Carnegie Hall and would take him to the opera when he was a child in New York City. He received a music teaching certificate from the University of Chicago in 1948. Self trained as a musician, Tom started the music business Rockland County. He opened an organ booth at the Orange County Fair that became such a big attraction, he permanently relocated to Middletown, NY, later opening a kiosk at the Orange County Mall.
Thomas is survived by his children, Patricia (Bunny) Fekzak of Goshen, NY, Lynn Dowson of Palm Coast, FL, and Ralph Bauer of Wallkill, NY.
He is also survived by stepchildren, Patricia Tucci and Judy MacCormack both of Myrtle Beach, SC, Leo Gross of Montgomery, NY and Donna (Murph) Smith of Monroe, NY; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine Bauer in 2010 and his former wife, Dorothy Bauer in 1978.
Memorial services will be held at 7 pm January 3, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 21 Joshua Dr., Bloomingburg, NY.
