Silvio Nico, 84 of Walden, formerly of Maybrook, died on January 5, 2013 at Castle Point Veterans Hospital. he was born on January 3, 1929 in Maybrook, NY to Alfredo and Stella Burns Nicoli. Silvio was the widower of the late Gertrude Davis. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Thomas D. Peterkin Post # 152. His survivors include: son, Silvio Nicoli and wife Kathleen of Round Rock, TX; daughter Denise James and husband, John of Walden, NY; sister, Gladys Rhodes of Florida; grandchildren, John Jr., Shaun, Mark, Renee and Deana; great grandchildren, Jacob and Jeremy; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Gertrude; brothers, Joseph, Alfred, Eugene and Richard; and sister, Johanna. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Thomas D. Peterkin Post #152, 30 Lawrence Ave. New Windsor, NY 12550. Cremation was in Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh. Graveside services were at Rosendale Cemetery, Tillson, NY at 10 AM on Thursday, January 10, 2013.
