Lauren was called home to be with the Lord on January 26, 2013 after a 2-year battle with leukemia. Daughter of the late Marvin P & Esther L. (Hunt) Colegrove, she was born in Elmira, NY. She was married to her loving husband Thomas for 27 years.
Lauren was a homemaker, bank teller for several area banks and worked at Barton Farms. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Walden, NY. Her bright smile and infectious laugh will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her
children, son Mark Thomas at home and daughter
Leslie Joy and Christopher D’Amato. Her siblings,
sister Valerie A. & Dean Ramsay of Palmyra, PA,
brothers Marvin H. & Linda Colegrove of
Newburgh and James E. & Carol Colegrove of Port
Jervis. Father & mother-in-law Joseph & Alice
Rockafellow, brothers & sisters-in-laws Michael &
Susan Rockafellow and Stephen & Peggy
Rockafellow all of Newburgh. Nieces and nephews
Scott Ramsay (Diana) & Jennifer Sturtevant
(Dave), Dana Herm (JD) & Devin Colegrove, Jason
& Seth Colegrove, Emma Colegrove, Justin &
Stacia Rockafellow and Megan & Stephen
Rockafellow. Also, 6 great-nephews and her
beloved cat Lucy.
Special thanks to Dr. Andrew Eisenberger & the
staff of NY Presbyterian Hospital at both the
Columbia and Weill Cornell campuses.
Friends may call on Friday, February 1st from 2
to 4PM and 7 to 9PM at Gridley Horan Funeral
Home, 39 Orchard Street, Walden, NY. Funeral
will be held 11AM on Saturday, February 2 at
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2520 State
Route 208, Walden, NY
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in
Lauren’s memory to NY Presbyterian Hospital or
Trinity Lutheran Church.
