CLARENCE H. SPECHT June 12, 1938 – February 4, 2013 Beverly Hills, FL and Gardnertown, NY Clarence H. Specht of Beverly Hills, FL and Gardnertown, NY entered into rest on Monday, February 4th at the Citrus Memorial Hospital. He was 74. The son of the late Clarence and Naomi (VanDerMark) Specht, he was born June 12, 1938 in Livingston Manor, NY. Clarence was raised in areas of Orange County, NY. Clarence graduated from the Washingtonville Central School were he played on the Basketball Team in 1957. Clarence joined the United States Military Army and was a Military Police stationed in Frankfurt, Germany (1960-1964). Clarence was a retired dairy farmer, truck driver, and later retired to Beverly Hills, FL in 1997. Clarence had a love for the outdoors; he loved the sport of hunting, golf, and enjoyed puttering around in his garage. He was a member of the Blooming Grove United Church of Christ, Blooming Grove, NY, Monell Engine Company Washingtonville, NY, Little Brittian Grange, New Windsor, Moose Lodge Newburgh, NY. Survivors include his wife, Janet; mother, Naomi Specht of Rock Tavern, NY; his daughters, Katherine (Joe) Bader of Rhineland, MO, Michelle (Rick) Merring of Walden, NY, Barbara Jean Granbury of Texas; grandchildren: Erica Gleeson of Hermann, MO, Paul Kroll of New Windsor, NY, Joe and Ben Bader of Rhineland, MO, Heather Merring and Robert John Merring of Walden, NY; great grandchildren: Holly, Tucker, Isabella, John Gleeson of Hermann, MO; sister, Carleen (John) Roy of Cananadiagua, NY; bothers, Henry (Nancy) Specht, Douglas Specht of Rock Tavern, NY; Gary Specht (Maryanne) aunt, Eleanor Johaneman of Willowemoc, NY; step daughters: Jullie Vonholten of Orangeburgh NY, Sharon Drake of Highland NY and Lisa Kane of Peasentvalley NY; five step grandchildren: JanMarie Melfi, Jollie VonHolten, Michelle Sherwood, Brandon and Monica Kane; nieces nephews including Michael, Gary Jr., Gwen and Maryanne Specht , cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father in 1980 and sister, Joan in 2009. A Memorial Service will be held on February 23rd at 2 p.m. in the Blooming Grove United Church of Christ, Blooming Grove, NY with Rev Dr. Lise Worthington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blooming Grove United Church Of Christ, Veterans Memorial Window, 2 Old Dominion Rd., P.O. Box 101, Blooming Grove, NY 10914.
