John Robert “Bob” Love Sr. of Montgomery, NY passed away on December 9, 2018 at his home. The son of the late Robert John and Thekla Beck Love, he was born on March 21, 1931. He was 87 years old. Bob served his country in the Air National Guard during the Korean War. He worked as a Lineman for Central Hudson Gas & Electric in Newburgh, NY and was an avid fisherman. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Lillian R. Verity Love at home; son, John Robert Love Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Montgomery, NY; daughters, Donna Kelly and her husband, Bill, of Middletown, NY, Nancy VanderLey of Montgomery, NY, Susan Schloemer and her husband, Greg, of Montgomery, NY; brother, Donald B. Love of Emmett, ID; grandchildren, Trisha DeChiaro, Jana Bush, John W. & Carol Love, David Schloemer and Kristina Sollas; great-grandchildren, Jaden & Makenna Bush, Kaydence & Cole Sollas; nieces and nephews. Bob’s family would like to express their gratitude to John W. and Carol Love for moving in with their grandparents and providing them with full-time loving care. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12th at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St. Walden, NY 12586. Burial will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery, Montgomery, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
