Richard R. Elsasser of Montgomery, NY, a small arms repairman at West Point, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013 at home. He was 69 years old. The son of Robert and Virginia Brower Elsasser, he was born on June 6, 1943 in Paterson, NJ.
Richard served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Ridgefield Park Elks and the Cahoonzie Hunting & Fishing Club.
Survivors are his wife, Susan Rose Elsasser at home; a daughter, Karen Masterson and her husband, Patrick, of Montgomery; two sisters, Arlene Wayts of Ridgewood, NJ and Virginia Dixon of Orlando, FL; 3 grandsons, Garrett, Griffin and Gavin, granddaughter, Ashlynne, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Elsasser.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held on Thursday evening at 8 PM. Cremation will be in the Cedar Hill Crematory; Newburgh, NY
