Harry J. Mills of Montgomery, NY, a retired NYS Trooper and Town of Montgomery Justice of the Peace, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Montefiore Hospital, Bronx. NY. He was 83. The son of Martin and Helen Mills, he was born on June 18, 1930 in Manhattan, NY. Harry was a member of the Church of the Assumption, Maybrook, Town of Montgomery Justice of the Peace for 39 years, acting Justice for the Village of Montgomery, former member of the Town of Montgomery Planning Board and former owner of Mills Transportation. Survivors are his wife, Marie Hollis Mills at home; two sons, Michael T. Mills and his wife, Jennifer of Port St. Lucie, FL and Harry J. Mills Jr. of Middletown; a daughter, Marie E. Pruschki and her husband, Steven of Walden; two brothers, James Mills of Catskill and Martin Mills of Florida; a sister, Helen Bruff of New Jersey; nine grandchildren, Marisa, Joseph, Craig, Jennifer, Stefani, Lara, Tyler, Sarah and Shae; seven great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard Street, Walden, NY. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 10 AM at the Church of the Assumption, Maybrook, NY. Burial will be in St.Mary’s Cemetery, Montgomery, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Assumption.
