Rodney D. Clune of Walden, NY, a retired Assistant Principal at Valley Central Middle School, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. He was 69 years old. The son of James and Barbara Huffcutt Clune, he was born on August 2, 1944 in Endicott, NY.
Rod was a former Athletic Director at Valley Central High School and coached wrestling, football and cross country. He was also a lifetime honorary member of the PTA and a member of the Fallsburg Fishing & Boating Club.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Lou Becker Clune at home; son, R.J. Clune and his fiancé Jayme Kackley of Occoquan, VA; daughter, Suzanne Clune and friend, Werner Schmidt of Poughkeepsie; brother, Thomas Clune of Melbourne, FL; three sisters, Kathleen Smith of Merritt Island, FL, Laura Wagman of Chestnut Ridge, NY and Deborah Clune of Harriman; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Goodwill Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Rt. 208, Montgomery, NY. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM, August 21 at the Church. Burial will be in the Goodwill Cemetery, Montgomery, NY.
Contributions may be made to the Goodwill Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
