Anthony Phillip Pettinger of Walden, NY a maintenance worker for the Colgate Palmolive Co., passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at home. He was 84 years old. The son of Eugene and Julia Misiukevich Pettinger, he was born on November 28, 1928 in New York City, NY. He was a Boy Scout leader when his son, Rod was young.
Anthony was the widower of the late Valerie M. Moran Pettinger. Survivors are his son, Rodney W. Martin and his wife Tammy of Walden; daughter, Nadine A. Martin of Walden; brother, Kenneth Pettinger and his wife, Maria of the state of Washington; three grandchildren, Meleasa, Andrew and Cassandra; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Daniel and Eugene Pettinger.
The family would like to especially thank his niece, Diane, nurses aid Yazmin and friend, Bill Conn.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 6 – 8 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard Street, Walden, NY. Funeral services will be held at8 PM at the funeral home following the visitation. Cremation will be in the Cedar Hill Crematory. Inurnment will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Putnam Valley, NY.
